HAWTHORNE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COUNSELING PROGRAM

Professional:  I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Boise State University in 2011 and received my Masters of Science in Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University in 2017.   I am also a licensed professional counselor and a nationally certified counselor.

Personal:  I have been married to a wonderfully supportive husband for 8 years and have two cats, Mya and Oliver and a new puppy, Juno!

This is my fourth year as Hawthorne’s school counselor. My program entails bi-weekly classroom lessons on topics in the areas of: emotional regulation, school success, health and safety, conflict management and drug education. These lessons may be done through an in-person or virtual setting depending on the circumstances at that time.

Additionally, I am available to help students manage short term difficulties, but the nature of my job does not allow for regular “counseling” sessions with kids. I am happy to provide you with outside counseling referrals, if you are interested. Though we are starting the school year online, feel free to reach out to me if you or your child would like to set up a time to meet with me in my office or meet virtually. I have shared a Request to See the Counselor form in which you or your child can request to see me. You must have an appointment to come in and meet with me. If you choose to meet in my office, I do ask that you wear a mask. If you are not comfortable with this, I am happy to meet virtually. I will also offer small psychoeducational group counseling as needed to help support students throughout the school year. If you feel your child would benefit from such a group, please let me know.

I am excited to be a part of the team at Hawthorne Elementary!  If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please feel free to call or email me.
